BIRD FEST "At a Glance"

Note: this page is now out-dated, but we have left it available for viewing so you can see a quick list of possible events for planning your next Bird Fest visit. We typically keep the many of the "much loved" trips, but may retire a few in favor of adding a few new adventures.

As registration for events progresses, check here to see if there is still space available on the various field trips.

In the "Pre-register" column:

--"Yes" denotes a trip for which ALL the participants must pre-register during General Registration, beginning May 1 through the Leavenworth Chamber of Commerce. Please note that if your desired trip is "Full" there may be no-shows, and therefore empty slots that we will fill from a waiting list of hopefuls who are present when the trip is almost ready to depart;

-"Half" means that 1/2 of the participants may pre-register, but the remaining slots are saved for "

first come, first served" on the day of the event (you may sign up 30 minutes before the departure time);

-- Exceptions: May 8 and 9 events (open to everyone) and "Locals Thursday" events (for those with 98826 and 98847 zip codes) may register anytime after April 23, 8 AM. Any unfilled Thursday events will be open to all during General Registration, beginning May 1.

--"No" means no pre-registration is necessary. Just meet at the designated site 30 minutes before the event, and you can sign up.

The "Full" column denotes trips where all pre-registered spaces are full, but there may be room on a waiting list and an opportunity to fill the spaces of "no shows."

--Fees: $5R means we are charging a refundable $5 fee on many pre-registered early morning field trips. If you go on the field trip, your guide will give you a coupon that you may send in for a refund after Bird Fest (until May 31). If you don't show up, Bird Fest keeps the $5 fee. This is in hopes of having fewer "no-shows" on those early morning, popular field trips. Note: other fees shown are not refunded. They help us cover Bird Fest expenses associated with those particular field trips.

Is that event full? "Yes" means it is full. "WL" means it is full to the wait list. "Pre-reg full" means the trip is one that has 1/2 pre-registered spaces, and 1/2 "register 30 minutes before departure time" spaces. The pre-registered slots are full. Walk-ups still available. Updated May 10, Noon.
